Random Acts of Kindness

Tonight I stopped by the BP gas and convenience store for something sweet. The Hindi man behind the counter always greets me "good evening, Madamé" in the most respectful way. Tonight I confessed, "I come in here just to hear you call me Madamé. Last time you called me Mademoiselle!"

He clasped his hands and in a slight bow said, "your smile is worth a million." To which I beamed and pressing my palms together, bowed in return, "Namaste'." which translates into "The God in me greets the God in you." or "The Spirit in me meets the same Spirit in you." As I turned to leave, he called out after me, "next time it will be Shalom, peace, and Assalamu alaikum." That simple greeting exchanged took my breath away!

Now that was something sweet!
